We had gotten your number just days before and how thankful I am for that. The quickness of your arrival and the careful manner in which you handled Skip, who was still laying in the yard unable to move, will forever have us coming to you with all our pet concerns. Dr. Osborne is OUR vet!! Thanks for everything, James boediger Posted By : Cara Cummins (cara@tacstudios.com)
Posted : 2/22/2009 Comments : I had the unfortunate task of deciding on euthanasia for my dog yesterday. After managing an illness for several months, my husband and I decided that his life would never return to what it once was so it was time. I had never bonded with a vet in Atlanta. The idea of taking him to the vet (which he hated), and having a very intimate moment with a Vet who could careless- was just a nightmare. Knowing that the day would come, I did some research- and I found the vet with the golden heart. Dr.Osborne is a mobile vet, she will make house calls. Back when I was a kid, on the farm- the vet came to us. It was like Noahs Ark, the animals would line up, neighbors would gather, everyone would get shots and de-wormer together. I made contact with her prior to the event, told her about his disease, that I did not know when he would pass, but it was coming. She said that she was very sorry, explained the process, the cost and said that she could be there within 2hours of my notice. This was exactly what I wanted. Perhaps there are cheaper ways of disposing of your pet, but I did not want disposal- I wanted him to feel love and comfort to the end. It was a very difficult decision, but we knew that he was so unhappy- and that his pain was increasing. We called her Saturday afternoon, and set a time. The moment she entered our home, and touched my dog- an overwhelm calm came over him. He knew that she was there to release him from his pain. There was no rush, you never felt uncomfortable, she was very gentle, and she agreed that his health was in great decline. She asked if I was ready, and every following step she spoke to him as if he was her own. I realize that care is now commerce, but in moments like this---you need someone who cares. Posted : 4/3/2006 Comments : Dear: Dr Osborne, My little Wiston is now gone. This has been very hard on me and he is already so greatly missed. The aabsolute love and joy that we share with our pets is more that words can decribe. I guess that's what makes it so enormously tough to say goodbye. I do know that I made the best decision in allowing Wiston to suffer no more by putting him to sleep, but that doesn't stop the the tears. It was incredibly difficult to see my little cat go through the last days of his life. And knowing that, you were right there for me. Your professionalism, care and genuine empathy shone a small ray of light through those dark moments for me. I want to tell you that it was a comfort to know that you cared. Please accept my deepest thanks to you for the kind and consideratesupport you gave me during this terrible ordeal. Your kindness will never go unforgotten. sincerely, Theresa Posted By : Karen Shaw Posted : 3/22/2006 Comments : Dr. Osborne, You're the GREATEST!!! |
